Blackhawk Boot Camp Fitness - Is it right for me?

Wichita Physical Fitness

We've had many, many people come forward over the course of the last year and many, maybe even most of them have asked at one point or another at least one of the following questions before they sign up.

1) I am not active at all. Is your boot camp program in Wichita right for my level of physical fitness?

Yes! Our program is broken down into three different fitness levels within each class! Our Green Group is specifically tailored to individuals with little or no physical fitness experience. Our certified instructors will work with you on a daily basis to make sure you are LEARNING as well as GAINING when you go through our workouts.

2) I'm scared! Are you going to yell at me?

No! While our boot camp training is modeled after military-style fitness training, the instructors are not there to yell and scream like a drill sergeant. They are there to guide and motivate you. Our instructors will never yell! There is no reason to be scared to join Blackhawk Boot Camp Fitness!

3) There is no way I can do those exercises!

That is not a problem. If you physically cannot do an exercise, our instructors will coach you on an alternate exercise that will produce similar results. At Blackhawk Boot Camp Fitness, we have the knowledge and expertise on-staff to help you understand your body and build upon an perceived limitations you think you have now!

4) How does the class work? Why is the boot camp 6 weeks long?

Our class structure is 6 weeks because we feel that is about the amount of time necessary to see great results. Anything shorter than that and you may feel as though you didn't get enough out of it. Anything longer and we feel it would be too stressful on the body. Our program runs for six weeks on, then one week of rest, then starts back up again at six weeks.

Additionally, our boot camp training is progressive. Week 6 is much more intense than Week 1, because of that we feel the peak is really reached by the end of week 6 and anything more would be counter productive.

5) What sorts of exercises should we expect at the Boot Camp?

Our program is primarily focused around gravity- and partner-resisted exercises. We do not use a lot of weights or equipment. Especially in the first two weeks of the program, you won't see much more than a lot of base-building exercises such as:

  • Push-Ups
  • Crunches
  • Bench Dips
  • Flutter Kicks
  • ...and so much more

Everyone of our workouts is unique and we have yet to exactly repeat a single one in over a year of training.

Keep the questions coming! We'll post them and hopefully get everyone in Wichita in the best shape possible!
